We (at DEV and MLH) are covering AI Engineer's World Fair by printing a physical newspaper called "The Daily Context" everyday of the conference.
We wanted to include a game in each issue so for today's first edition, we published a little word search affectionately named "Vector Search":
I built this game with AI Studio and deployed it to Cloud Run. It was super easy to put together and I love the little touches included in the game (answer reveal, confetti upon completion, etc). You can play it right here:
I discovered a funny little "bug" this morning right when we were about to go live with the digital version of the paper.
Or well, maybe I can't actually call it a bug. AI Studio went above and beyond and built me an app where the word search changed on every refresh as opposed to the static word search I had printed in the physical paper. The words being searched remained the same, which is why I didn't notice this immediately.
While a new word search is definitely a better gaming experience, attendees were told to visit the digital version of The Daily Context for their answers so I had to quickly simplify the app to ensure the print and digital versions matched. Certainly a type of problem that wouldn't have happened pre-AI!
Thank you to everyone who responded to my post last week:
If you didn't see your words used today, I'm sure it will pop up in our other games this week. Stay tuned for tomorrow's crossword!
