AWS AgentCore Payments launched — now agents need governance

amazon bedrock agentcore payments went live this week with coinbase x402 and stripe privy. agents can now pay for web content, apis, mcp servers, and other agents.

the rails are here. what's missing is the governance layer.

a misconfigured payment flow doesn't just produce a bad answer — it moves real money. agents need audit trails that survive the session, budget enforcement that can't be prompt-injected away, and reputation scores that travel with the agent across platforms.

that's the problem mnemopay solves. fiscalgate gives you two-phase commit for agent transactions — the agent proposes, the governance layer approves or rejects based on policy. merkleaudit writes every transaction to a tamper-evident chain the agent itself can't reach.

i've run 672 tests against prompt injection, context stuffing, and multi-turn budget exhaustion. the agent can't bypass the gate.

aws built the payment rails. now we need the control plane.
