San Franciscans and attendees at the AI Engineer World's Fair saw a shining swarm of drones flying over the iconic Ferry Building waterfront last night.
While America loves its fireworks, particularly on the upcoming July 4 "Huzzah, we kicked out the Brits and will spell color any way we please" celebration, these are increasingly seen as so last century. Instead, AI-controlled drone swarms are the coming thing, and LLM code creation and curation company Qudo put on a show for those who looked up on Monday evening.
The event was held in the gourmet's paradise of the Ferry Building and drew engineers from around the world to talk about AI and coming trends in the industry. Then a swarm of battery-powered drones took to the sky for a flyby.
While this might seem like a trivial use of the technology, it's increasingly welcome in the U.S., as the nation suffers an intense drought and the risk of wildfires needs to be controlled.
